If you don’t want the “investment” of buying various digital scrapbooking kits and if you really want to streamline the scrapbooking process, I recommend How Fast Time Flies.   Imagine logging in and being presented with a variety of beautiful kits. Within each kit are numerous color combinations and templates. Choose the ones you want, fill in with your uploaded photos and change the text and TAAADAAA! A completed page! You can have HFTF print the pages for $5.50 per page. You haven’t invested in supplies that you may not use again – and you have a cohesive book that has a finished look from beginning to end because all of the pages coordinate in a kit.

The templates are classic and allow you to use one photo or multiple photos. There isn’t a lot that’s trendy or cliche that would be out of style in a couple of years. The themes range from grown up events like a wedding, to baby pages, to vacation and kid themes. Each of them is beautiful and creative.  Mostly I like the fact you can get several photos on a page because I never have enough room for all the photos I want to use.

This site is great for someone who wants to get their feet wet in Digi Scrapping but doesn’t want to invest in Photoshop Elements or Photoshop. And who would rather drag and drop their photos and have a coordinated album to show for it.  I’m not very good at math but most “kits” I buy online are between $4-6 and maybe up to $10-12. Now, I can make multiple pages with that kit over and over – but I have to store it on a hard drive and back it up so there is a little maintenance involved to keep your documents safe. With this process, you don’t have to worry about that. Everything to create the page is stored on their website.

I don’t see myself jumping from the Photoshop Elements ship into the premade page waters.. but I think it is very useful for beginners or those who don’t care about collecting supplies. Give them a look. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Their mantra is “Where Scrapbooking meets Web 2.0″ – perhaps this is the future of digital scrapbooking!?

As a digi-scrapper, I’m always trying to improve my photography. When I win the lottery and can hire Nanny McPhee to come care for my 7 children, I’ll try to find a class! In the mean time, I love looking at photography websites and this is one of my favorites. Photojojo. They’re quirky, cutting-edge and fun. They show you things you never knew existed and give you ideas for improving your photography skills. Be sure you sign up for their newsletter. You’ll love it.

They have lots of cool contests, too. Right now you can win a nifty instant camera or a camera bag: CONTEST
